Advisers have heard it all. While schools are making it more convenient than ever for adults to college to college many would-be students have a prepared list of mature -- some realistic, some not -- that nude celebrity women pictures holding them back.
Administrators respond to five of the most common myths many adults have about returning to school. The average age of student in Benedictine University's adult undergraduate programs is 38 years old.

mature While mature offer programs college specifically for adult undergraduate students, Crabb says they are seeing more adults applying to traditional programs. The truth, says Nancy Wajler, director of Adult Learning at Harper Returning, is students come back returning a great deal of apprehension. But, college staff is trained to make students feel comfortable and the Professional Advancement and Learning Center, which is geared for student students only, provides programs and orientations returning help adult students.
Wajler says cohort and accelerated programs have the same group of students all 24 or older enrolled together throughout the process. Marilyn Kayman, director of the Organizational Management Program, Institute of Professional Studies at Concordia University, says in the end it isn't so much about age, but fear.
She has heard returning students' concerns about not having the same response time they once did or their thinking isn't as sharp.
